School Council
Our school council ready for their meeting -
Miss Brear would like the school council to discuss with their classes the following:
Are there sufficient footballs?
Would you prefer to have year group footballs?
Would you like bibs?
Would you prefer mixed year group football or just year group football?
Would you like to have 6 vs 6 games, with losing time coming off after the other team scores 2 goals?
What are the barriers to children attending clubs?
We will meet again on Friday 29th November to discuss.

The school council have been busy this week, selling Children in Need merchandise!

This week, we have asked the children to discuss with their classes the following points:
Do they feel safe at school?
If not, when and where?
How would they describe behaviour at school?
What can we do to improve behaviour at school?
Do they know what the school rules are and what each rule means?
How do they show that they are following the rules?
October 2024
We held our first school council meeting today. The children were all very excited to share the things they had discussed in their classes. We have also elected our Chair - who is Jonah and our Secretary, who is Shabaz.
September 2024
After fantastic speeches and voting, the classes have now elected their new school council representatives. The children were very pleased to be awarded their badges in the Friday achievement assembly, and they can't wait for their first school council meeting.

This week in school council the children will be bringing feedback from the classes about behaviour in our school. The children have been asked to discuss:
How they feel about behaviour in school?
Does everyone know where to go if they have a problem?
Does everyone know the school rules?
November 23 - feedback from meeting
During our last meeting we asked classes to discuss the following issues; attendance, how to improve, how we can stop losing the playtime equipment and how we can supervise the prayer room. These are their responses and ideas:
Play equipment:
Checklist for the children to sign equipment in and out of each break and lunch time, boxes or crates to keep it in, punishments/fines for those who loose equipment, timetable for different year groups to use it, designated space on the playground (middle to stop equipment going onto the roof, a playground monitor to supervise, either a prefect or a school council representative.
Prayer room:
Any child who wants to use the payer room to get a signed permission from their parents, saying that they will abide by the rules of the school and the room to be monitored by prefects and school council (5/6) with the members of SLT checking in when they are on duty.
Attendance:
Weekly rewards for 100% attendance such as house points or some other weekly incentives, tea party with the heads, privilege cards, freddos, extra break, mufti for those who have 100% attendance, names get entered into a raffle draw either weekly, monthly or termly, movie afternoon reward, small prize rewards, lollies, hot chocolate or cake.
