UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the rights of the child)
We ensure our curriculum offer meets the UNCRC articles below:
Article 14 –Every child has the right to think and believe what they want and practice their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights. Governments must respect the rights of parents to give their children information about this right.
Article 15 – Every child has the right to meet with other children and to enjoy groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights.
Article 28 – Every child has the right to an education.
Article 29 – Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the children’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment,
Article 31 – Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.
Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development (S.M.S.C)
This document below aims to show the provision at our school for the development of
S.M.S.C in our children. Most of the provision is embedded in school life and is planned to take place. There are also some other unique opportunities that children have had, as we strive to make the most of the experiences offered to us and these are recorded as extra opportunities. Through our planned provision of S.M.S.C we also address the promotion of British Values, summarised below:
- Democracy
- The Rule of Law
- Individual Liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs
Where these are explicit, they are highlighted on the audit in bold type. (please see audit attached below)
